About the SSAT
The SSAT is a standardized test used by admission officers to assess the abilities of students seeking to enroll in an independent school.
The test is administered monthly from October until April. The test can be taken by students entering middle school, high school, and college.
All levels of the SSAT contain verbal, quantitative (math), and reading comprehension sections and an unscored writing sample.
- Elementary Level SSAT: Grades 3 to 4
- Middle-Level SSAT: Grades 5 to 7
- Upper-Level SSAT: Grades 8 to 11
Description
In this course, you and your tutor will go through practice exam questions to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses. Your tutor will curate a custom study plan for you based on your diagnostics and together train you in the art of mastering the SSAT. You will learn how to conquer question types that you have trouble with, as well as learning test taking tips for maximizing your performance.
Unlike other SSAT prep courses, this course is a private one-on-one lesson. You will study at the perfect pace for you, as opposed to being limited by your peers. You can expect to be sufficiently challenged and constantly improving, rather than wasting time reviewing concepts you already know.
What you will learn
- Test taking strategies for taking the SSAT efficiently and effectively
- Your strengths and how to effectively utilize them to get a higher score
- Your weaknesses and how to improve or work around them
- Typical questions you can expect for each of the testing sections
Requirements
- Students should ideally be in high school and/or preparing to take the SSAT in the next 1-2 years.
